Dr. Romeo Augusto Lucas is a board certified gynecologist and founder of New England Center for Pelvic Health in Freeport, Maine. This center is the realization of his years-long vision for a clinic where women suffering from pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction and endometriosis could have access to comprehensive evaluation, accurate diagnoses and thorough care, tailored to the patient’s experience. This patient-specific approach incorporates a combination of hormonal, analgesic, neurologic, minimally invasive surgical and/or manual therapies to address pelvic pain. Dr. Lucas is a member of the American Academy of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (and serves on their Pelvic Pain Special Interest Group), International Pelvic Pain Society, American Osteopathic Association, and America Congress of OB/GYN.

Dr. Lucas has a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from National University of Health Sciences in Lombard, Illinois. After 2 years of private chiropractic practice in New Jersey, he attended University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine where he earned his Doctor of Osteopathy in 2008. He completed a rotating internship at UMDNJ-School of Osteopathic Medicine in Stratford, NJ in 2009 and his OB/GYN Residency at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ in 2013. He is an Assistant Professor of Clinical OB/GYN for the Northeast Osteopathic Medical Education Network and Affiliate Clinical Faculty at University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Lucas is board certified by the American Board of OB/GYN and has a diplomate in Minimally Invasive Gynecology. He has had specialty training and extensive experience in Endometriosis Excision Surgery (ICareBetter certified). He has also completed coursework with International Society of the Study of Women's Sexual Health (ISSWSH), International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease (ISSVD) and International School of Neuropelveology (ISON).
