Ashanthi Gajaweera, MD, MSCP is a board-certified neurologist, Menopause Society Certified Practitioner, and founder of Healthspan Neurology PC — one of a small number of neurologist-led practices in the country dedicated to dementia prevention. After more than 25 years caring for patients with Alzheimer's and dementia, watching them arrive too late for meaningful intervention, she left traditional practice to focus entirely on identifying and modifying cognitive risk before symptoms appear. As an MIT-trained engineer, she brings a systems-based approach to preventive neurology. Her work sits at the intersection of cardiovascular and metabolic health and emerging biomarker science, with particular focus on detecting Alzheimer's risk decades before diagnosis. She holds rare dual expertise in preventive neurology and menopause care — a combination that reflects her conviction that midlife is the critical window for intervention, especially for women.
