In 2004, Dr. VanDyke left her broadcasting career and began working toward a career in medicine. She was driven to medicine for a variety of reasons, including her own experiences with cancer. Those experiences became utterly invaluable while learning the art and science of doctoring, and her patients appreciate that perspective in their care.
Endocrinologists have their hands in everything–every organ system and almost every diagnosis have endocrine components. She first became interested in diabetes in 2014 during residency, and this naturally progressed to an Endocrinology fellowship. Dr. VanDyke crisscrossed the country for the various stages of her medical education, finally landing in Mansfield, TX to practice.
