Dr. Shah is an internationally recognized sports cardiologist. He is the Chief Medical Officer for USA Swimming, cardiology consultant for the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee, on the NBA Cardiac Advisory Committee, and a preferred provider for US Soccer. He has also served as team cardiologist/cardiologist consultant for the Washington Wizards, Baltimore Orioles, Washington Capitals, Washington Mystics, and Baltimore Ravens and DC United.

He is recognized as a Top Doctor by Washingtonian and Baltimore Magazines and is Chair of the Sports and Exercise Cardiology Leadership Council for the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Shah is an Associate Professor of Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine and Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University. He is also a founding member of the Sports Cardiology Society. He completed a dedicated fellowship in sports cardiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital/Harvard University.
